One more warm up show in St. Pete, FL on Monday at the Hideaway. We'll be recording that show. Then...rehearsal one week from tonight in NYC. I am looking forward to performing in NY & NJ again and seeing all of our friends and fans there.

The Robin Zander Band: What can I say except for "I feel like a kid in a rock band." I love the interaction between the players musically and all the planning. It's like the old days when rehearsal was called practice and all you did was think of songs to play. Setting up gear and looking forward to plugging in, turning on and dropping out! Of course I beat things with a stick so there's that! FYI we've added another warm up date in St Pete, Florida on April 1st. Its called The Hideaway. We rehearsed there...only holds 100 or so. And this is NOT an April fools prank.

The Robin Zander Band a new rock formation

The past 2 months have seen a lot of musical changes for me. In addition to producing and writing with 13 year old pop singer Cody Vagle I have recently formed a new band with Robin Zander appropriately titled The Robin Zander Band. The new band includes my long time friend and band mate Mark Hitt on guitar and our TorQue bassist Larry Hobbs. The four of us have been performing together on and off for 8 years in support of many charitable causes. However, Saturday, Feb 23rd marked the first official performance of The Robin Zander Band at a small venue in Ft. Myers Florida. We played some of Robin's solo material, a few Cheap Trick songs and a lot of other material that we all enjoyed performing. The set list will grow and change as the band progresses. Everyone is in top form which makes this even more fun. I hope to see you all at future shows.

"It's About Time"

Today I started pre-production for my very adventurous drum project. I've been planning this album for about 4 years and the time is right to begin. I'll be doing tracks with a variety of talented drummers. Drum duets so to speak but VERY musical duets using some cool tricked out tech. I am very proud to have Howie Lindeman at the board. Stay "tuned..."

Happy New Year 2013.  This is the year I will begin my drum recordings with other drummers.
I am very excited about the drummers that are joining this project.  It is going to be a new adventure into drumming and should produce some interesting recordings and collaborations.  Stay "tuned" for updates and progress reports.

I will continue to work with new artists in both pop and country genres.  And of course I'll never forget my prog roots.

Bio - TorQue
Late in 2001 Steve Luongo and fellow Rat Race Choir member, guitarist Mark Hitt formed the progressive rock band TorQue. The two musicians co-wrote 11 songs for the debut album titled TorQue 103103. The original band was started as a power trio with Mark Clarke (Billy Squier) on bass and vocals. This line up was joined in the studio by Chris Clark on keyboards. The new quartet served as the backing band for 2 tracks on the CD Songs From The Material World - A tribute to George Harrison on Koch Records. They performed with Leslie West on "Old Brown Shoe" and John Entwistle on "Here Comes The Sun." The tracks were produced by Steve Luongo.

While recording 103103 Mark Clarke was tapped by his former band for a tour. Luongo & Hitt added bassist Jeff Ganz(Johnny Winter). Luongo served as producer and lead vocalist in addition to his usual spot as drummer. Both Luongo and Hitt have said that 103103 is among their proudest musical achievements. TorQue 103103 is considered to be a huge step in their progressive musical journey which began in 1974. TorQue toured nationally in 2003-2005.

The band has also backed up some familiar names on the live concert stage. Robin Zander & Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Buck Dharma (Blue Oyster Cult), Eddie Money and Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) to name a few. Mark and Steve recorded and toured in 2007 with Brian Johnson & Cliff Williams (AC/DC). They also performed a set of Cream material with bass legend Jack Bruce for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

After a break Luongo and Hitt reformed the band as a trio with bassist Larry Hobbs. They played some one off gigs in 2011 including an appearence at the famed Playboy Mansion in LA. The band recently invited Tommy Zvoncheck(Blue Oyster Cult) to fill the keyboard seat and is once again performing as a four piece group. This progressive rock band is looking forward to playing some "prog" festivals in the fall. Dates will be announced here and on all of the band's media outlets.
